OTDR 980EXT show error "there are light, test stop"

I received 2 photos. One is OTDR testing with no cable, the other is connected to cable. Then test stopped with the message, means “ there are light, test stop”. Then the cable is not live cable.

The problem is caused by temperature and humidity. But users can calibrate it by these steps.

1. go to OTDR

2. go to "parameter setting"

3. press "Light calibration"

The problem should be solved now. If not, contact our tech support team by email tech@firstfiber.cn

Note: if OTDR you bought is not with filter, please do not test active fiber. Check models available here.
