Nokia helps Vietnam Mobifone deploy 100G optical transmission network
2017-12-02It is reported that Vietnamese operator Mobifone will deploy the Nokia 100G Optical Transmission Network (OTN) and dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) regional network from Ho Chi Minh City to more than 10 provinces in southern Vietnam. The new transmission network will enable the country's mobile communications market leader, Mobifone, to provide innovative and high-capacity services in these major economic areas.
Nokia will provide 100G DWDM solutions with L1 Universal Multiprotocol Label Switching (GMPLS) transmissions to support the growing flow of these areas; In addition, Nokia's 1830-photon service switch (PSS) will help maximize the network capacity and efficiency of mobifone, To achieve faster deployment of new services.
Once the deployment is complete, the new transport network will support up to 300G of traffic and future system expansion up to 8Tbps.
